The garden created by the owner of this small 1940s developer’s house was the reason she could not leave. She began as a renter and, ten years later, bought the property and stayed for the garden and the neighborhood.
The garden created by the owner of this small 1940s developer’s house was the reason she could not leave. She began as a renter and, ten years later, bought the property and stayed for the garden and the neighborhood.
Like many houses of its era, every room was minimal and dark. The foundation, too, needed serious work to bring it up to current standards. Our renovation took the house down to two walls and began over again, creating rooms that opened to and looked out on the paradise which so attracted the owner to the site.
